On July 29th , at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, Russ Niggemyer (2-2,2KOs) will battle Thomas Falowo (3-0,3KOs) in a 4 round professional bout. Check back for updates.

The July 1st bout between Hilliards’ “Iron’ Dan Crabtree and Kevin Dotson out of Youngstown which was scheduled as a 4 round bout in the jr. welterweight division has been canceled due to Mr. Dotson’s inability to free himself from a “military obligation”. The card is being promoted by Ghost Promotions (former undisputed World Champion Kelly Pavlik’s new promotional company). Although the fight was scratched last week, “Iron” Dan’s management team was not informed of the cancellation until late Saturday night via text message that read “If I did not tell you last week, the fight got canceled………” needless to say professional boxing is not supposed to be conducted this way, a lot of time and money goes into preparing a boxer for a fight at the professional level. Professional boxer’s have bills to pay like everyone else and our purses are often times spent before the check is in hand, and when a fight get’s called off a week out it can create all kinds of problems. We did everything we could do and called the commission and confirmed that the excuse was “legit” !Were sure we annoyed a lot of “big ringers” in getting down to the bottom of this,but at the end of the day our worth as a burgeoning management/promotional company depends on our ability and tenacity to fight for our boxers best interests and we will continue to do so !

July 27th-30th, at The annual Ohio State Fair, held in Columbus, Sweet Science amateurs will compete in the National boxing tournament featuring boxers from various parts of the country. Roster of fighters will be posted soon.

July 18th -23rd , in Mesquite, Nevada , Junior combatants Derrell Gibbs (4X National Champion) and Jjuan Hamilton will fight in the National Junior Golden Gloves tournament. More information to come!

July 15th-17th, in Orlanda, Flordia , two time IKF World Kickboxing Champion John Savage is poised and ready to win his third IKF World Title. Stay tuned for updates and results!

July 1st , in Youngstown , Ohio ,Hilliard’s own “Iron” Dan Crabtree is slated to face Kevin Dotson of Youngstown in a 4 round battle of junior welterweights at the Covelli Center, “Iron” Dan is coming off of two highly controversial losses, the most recent being a tough battle with Cleveland’s Darrick Moss. Saturday June 18th , Sweet Science amateurs were featured on the card of Zanesville PAL’s first amateur Mayor’s Cup held at the Secrest Auditorium in downtown Zanesville. Renowned Coach and Director of Z-PAL Tim Hartmeyer always puts on a well run and highly organized show and the Mayor’s Cup was no exception. Team Sweet Science was comprised of Nico Buoni, and new additions Derrell “Young Gunner” Gibbs, J’juan “Don Juan” Hamilton and Nyck Price.
